The best way to celebrate Malaysia’s independence is to celebrate its colorful diversity, its ’rojak-ness’. After all, our 360º view of different cultures, beliefs, languages and of course, food, are what make Malaysians and Malaysia especially blessed.

Maxis, via YouTube’s immersive 360ºvideo-on-mobile platform brought Malaysians a first-of-its-kind film festival. Just like life in Malaysia, viewers could tilt their phones for a 360º view of the films that brought to life Malaysian ‘rojak-ness’ with the “Cham Cham Baru Best” themed films, created by five of Malaysia’s best storytellers.  

All round success! A launch event gave members of the media first dibs on the 360º immersive video-on-mobile experience before the films arrived on 15 million mobile sets across the nation. Our much-loved ‘rojak-ness’ was celebrated all over the country on its most special day of the year. Happy Independence Day, Malaysia.
